Poor Mental and Cultural Life Is Inevitable Product of Capitalism: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- Poor mental and cultural life is peculiar to exploiter society, capitalism in particular.
Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in a bylined article.
Social inequality and imbalance have reached the limit in the capitalist countries and the reactionary and unpopular nature of their policies has become more serious, the paper says, and goes on:
The financial and economic crises sweeping capitalist society are hastening the degradation of mental and cultural life of people.
The suicide rate has recorded remarkable increase in the capitalist countries.
School youth and children of poor families are looking for means of living to support their families after giving up their desire to learn.
Those who were mentally degraded due to hard life and hopeless future are trying to forget all their troubles with alcohol, drug, etc.
The capitalist media are spreading all sorts of reactionary ideas such as the almighty dollar principle, extreme selfishness, pessimism and racial chauvinism and literature and arts works representing them as well as all kinds of superstitions and decadent lifestyle.
The lifestyle based on the law of the jungle and all descriptions of immorality and depravity are turning capitalist society into the world of violence and crimes.
The people are getting all the more mentally degraded by the decadent material life.
Decadent and imbalanced material life and poor mental and cultural life are causing lots of contradictions in capitalist society.
Capitalism is on its way to ruin. -0-
