Visit to the KPA Military Equipment Exhibition

I visited the the Korean People's Army Military Equipment Exhibition on the 6th of September 2012 as part of the course organised by the Korean  Association of Social Scientists . I marvelled at being invited to it. I thought as a foreigner I would not be allowed to visit it but I was . Of course I was not allowed to take a camera or ask about specifications of the equipment.
The newly built exhibition is in the south west area of Pyongyang .  It was opened on the 15th of April in the presence of dear respected general Kim Jong Un. The exhibition had been constructed under his guidance. The exhibition covers a large area of ground and in fact were only able to see just a small part of it.  A narrow gauge railway has been constructed in the exhibition to take people around. The main hall consists largely of scale models and some weapons. Outside there are real fighter aircraft , tanks and long range guns.
We were greeted by an attractive lady guide dressed in the  uniform of the Korean People's Army. She made a short speech introducing the exhibition and then saluted. Once inside the exhibition we put overshoes on on to protect the floor. As you enter there is an amazing statue of the great leader generalissimo Kim Jong Il with an automatic rifle in his hand. We paid respect to the statue. We were showed the special car that dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un intended to present to the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il for use at the exhibition. Very sadly the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il passed away prematurely before he could be presented with it. Those present felt pain at the mention of the passing away of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il and shed tears for him.
There was a life size model of the horse used by the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il. He was an excellent horseman.  Eternal Chairman Kim Jong Il was a man of many great and considerable talents , a great military commander and strategist but also a philosopher ,writer  and expert on the cinema.
There was a whole section devoted to the Strategic Rocket Command of the Korean People's Army. This was truly awesome. Here I was convinced that the DPRK can strike at the United States and destroy it .
The exhibition was a veritable treasure trove of military scale models. I have never seen so many well crafted scale models before in my life . There were sections represented every aspect of the KPA's role ; infantry, tanks, air force, navy, communications, medical,  in fact everything. I was very impressed by the models of hovercraft and submarines. There were models of Air Koryo planes that were delightful to see. Also eye catching was the models  of the the KPA rail transport section( I used to like model railways as a boy). All the arms and equipment of the KPA are made in the DPRK under the spirit of self-reliance.
One exhibit that caught my eye was a display of the liberation of Seoul by the Korean People's Army during the Fatherland Liberation War, the last Korean war. Here there is a life sized representation of a KPA tankman hoisted the DPRK flag on the Capitol house of Seoul on the 3rd day of the war. Let's hope that one day the flag of the DPRK will again flutter high over a liberated south Korea.
My guide told me quietly that the DPRK and KPA won a great victory at Yongphyong, on November 23rd 2010 under respected Marshal Kim Jong Un . The aggression and provocation of the south Korean puppets was smashed. Their behaviour reminded me of anti-social and unruly children who attacked their neighbours house only to get slapped around the head hard and run off crying to their parents(in this case the parent is the US imperialists).
The exhibition was full of surprises. There was a hall devoted to world military weapons. The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il had stressed that the serviceman must know the weapons of the enemy. In here there were mock-ups of Iraq and Afghanistan complete with the smell of war and wounded  American troops.
The KPA Military Equipment Exhibition is indeed a centre for education in the Juche-orientated warfare and the Songun revolutionary idea. Visiting I became totally convinced that the DPRK can by its own efforts defeat the US imperialists militarily and reunify the country. Some people claim to "defend the DPRK "  but doubt the military power of Songun Korea. However visiting the exhibition one could only stand in awe at the immense military power of socialist Korea.  The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il built the DPRK into a socialist military power. This is being further consolidated by the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, brilliant commander and sun of Songun.
