                               London 10th of January
The ASSPUK, JISGE and UK KFA issued the following statement on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the DPRK's withdrawal from the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty
Today 10th of January is 10 years since the DPRK took the momentous revolutionary step of withdrawing from the unjust and one-sided "NuclearNon -Proliferation Treaty" thereby asserting its independence and maintaining the spirit of anti-imperialism. It showed that under the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great general Kim Jong Il that the DPRK does what it wants unaffected by the pressure ,diktat and bullying by others.
The nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula was created by the US who broke the Korean Armistice Agreement by shipping in nuclear weapons into Korea as long ago as the 1950s . The US turned south Korea into a nuclear forward base with 1,000 nuclear weapons . The US on several occasions has threatened and even prepared to use nuclear weapons against the DPRK.
It is the US that has the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons in the world and have used nuclear weapons on 2 occasions.
The NPT itself is a treaty that confers privileges on the nuclear-haves whilst discriminating against the have-nots. It has done nothing to achieve disarmament. The NPT and International Atomic Energy Agency served as tools of US and world imperialism against the DPRK. The IAEA  acted as a servant and a spokesman for the U.S. and the NPT is being used as a tool for implementing the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK aimed to disarm it and destroy the Juche-based socialist system by force.
The DPRK's withdrawal from the NPT struck a hard blow against imperialism and was a powerful inspiration to the peoples of the world fighting for independence.
