The Myth of Camp 14.

Further to our expose of the book "Escape from Camp 14" (http://juche007-anglo-peopleskoreafriendship.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/escape-from-camp-14-pack-of-lies-from.html) we have done some more research into the issue of "Camp 14" . It is variously described as a "prison camp" or a "total control security zone". Of course these are quite different things. The location of the alleged camp is even more interesting. It is supposedly near to Kaechon city .  Now this is not an isolated area . Usually enemies of the DPRK like to say no foreigners ever see prison camps or labour camps because they are in isolated areas but Kaechon is not an isolated area. The main road and links from Pyongyang to the tourist resort of Hyangsan and the industrial city of Huichon

actually run through. Many tourists from different countries would have passed through there on their way to Hyangsan.

The city of Anju is nearby as well. So this is not an out of the way isolated area. Supposed satellite images shown of the camp are really those of an industrial plant in the area.

Such places do not exist in the DPRK. If there were large numbers of prisoners they would need to use the Korean People's Army in construction or mass mobilise people for construction. In the DPRK the emphasis is on re-education and this is done by positive example including the popularisation of role models.
