Masikryong Ski Resort

Project for a world-level ski resort is in full progress on Masik Pass area in Kangwon Province, the DPRK.
The Masik Pass area witnesses an abundant snowfall from November to March next year and is favorable for ski track topographically.
And Pyongyang-Wonsan Sight-seeing Road nearby provides good traffic conditions.
The ski resort is a comprehensive sports and entertainment basis provided with ski tracks and service amenities for the convenience of visitors.
DPRK regards the Masikryong ski resort as a monumental structure and a symbol of a civilized country for the people to enjoy socialist welfare and prosperity in the distant future too.
Marshal Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Party, state and army of Korea is always paying deep attention to providing a civilized and happy living conditions to the people.
In 2012 he suggested building a Masikryong ski resort and assigned the task to the People’s Army.
Soldier builders pulled down steep rocks and rough mountain ridges and laid ski tracks with a total length of 110 000 meters and width of 40-120 meters for professional and amateur skiers, completing in less than one year an immense project that had been said to take more than 10 years.
The DPRK plans to build a world-level ski resort within 2013 for highly civilized and happy living conditions of people, youth and students.
On June 4, Juche 102(2013), Marshal Kim Jong Un sent an appeal to all the service personnel and people with a conviction that the soldier builders would wind up the construction of ski resort within this year by creating the “Masikryong Speed” and all the service personnel and people across the country would bring about a great leap forward and signal innovations in all sectors of socialist construction in that spirit.
He called on all the soldier builders to accelerate the project for ski resort with a blitz in the spirit of “At a go” and thus create “Masikryong Speed”, a new a-match-for-a hundred speed in the 21st century.
There still remain many things to do in the project. Ski tracks should be completed further, service establishments, lodgings including hotel and helicopter landing ground should be built and ski lift should be laid.
Soldier builders are filled with a high zeal to complete the ski resort within this year by all means.
The Korean people and youth and students are looking ahead with conviction into the day when they would ski on the world level ski resort to their hearts’ content, hardening their bodies and enjoying the splendid sunrise and picturesque scenes of nature.
