UK KFA slams Ulji Freedom Guardian and demands no British participation in it !

UK KOREAN FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION

London 14th of August 2013

The UK Korean Friendship Association today issued a statement on the holding of the Ulji Freedom Guardian exercises  by the US and south Korea:

We were shocked to learn that on the 11th of August the US and south Korea announced their intention to stage the Ulji Freedom Guardian exercise  which involves 30,000 US troops and 50,000 south Korean puppet troops from the 19th of August to the 30th August. These exercises have been announced at a time when Korean people and the international community are welcoming the talks on the KIZ and the agreement reached between the two sides. The very timing of the announcement of the Ulji Fredom Freedom Guardian exercises is provocative in itself and casts a very long shadow over the dialogue on the Korean peninsula.
The exercises which involve a simulated invasion of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea  so thus Ulji Freedom Guardian is a rehearsal for so-called regime change , the forcible dismantling of the DPRK's people-orientated socialist system. This is not only a challenge to the independence and sovereignty of the DPRK but a serious threat to peace both on the Korean peninsula , the Asia -Pacific region and the whole world. It is a reckless act of the crazy US imperialist warmongers to stage military exercises on the Korean peninsula which is now enjoying a period of calm after the tensions caused by the US imperialists and south Korean puppets in March and April.
Our UK Korean Friendship Association cannot remain silent about the fact that apparently British forces will participate in these aggressive and war-like exercises under the guise of the so-called "UN Command " . Does the British government plan to repeat the disgraceful history of Britain's role in the last Korean war ? . The presence of British forces in the exercises is not only an affront to the dignity of the DPRK but imperils relations between the two countries and it is a blatant waste of taxpayers money at a time when public spending is being cut all the time. We demand the Britain withdraws its forces at once from the exercises !

UK KFA,moreover, also demands the full cancellation of the UFG exercises and the dissolution of the UN Command in south Korea.
