KCNA Commentary Hits U.S. Intention for World Hegemony

Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- The U.S. has become evermore vociferous about the strengthening of its "missile defence capabilities" to cope with the DPRK's missile development.
Some days ago, the military bellicose forces at a hearing of the Armed Service Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives underscored the need for expanding "missile defence capabilities", asserting that north Korea tops the list of challenges to the U.S. troops in Asia and that north Korea's nuclear and missile programmes and its provocation remain an existing threat.
Their remarks are a revelation of the U.S. sinister intention to keep military supremacy in the Asia-Pacific region by expanding and upgrading its MD (missile defence system) in the region under the pretext of the DPRK's "threat" and thus containing its potential rivals.
It remains an open secret that the U.S. is putting spurs to its moves of establishing MD in the region in line with the strategy of world domination.
Those moves give a glimpse of the U.S. ulterior aim to set up a powerful missile offensive system targeting Eurasia with the powers in the Asia-Pacific region and their strategic bases included in its operation sphere.
Japan is speeding up the introduction of MD after receiving the U.S. allowance of joint development, production and deployment of MD, while deploying a large number of latest missiles in bases of the "Self-Defence Forces" and expanding the operation theatre of Aegis beyond their maritime borders.
Raising a hue and cry over the "threat" from the DPRK, the U.S. has egged south Korea on to taking an active part in the U.S.-led building of MD. Furthermore, the U.S. has said that it is necessary for south Korea to introduce Kill Chain and MD in advance to deter the DPRK.
As above-mentioned, the U.S. allegation about the "threat" from the DPRK is nothing but a sheer sophism to justify the moves for the establishment of MD and thus cover its aggressive and hegemonic purposes.
Recently, the Russian foreign minister said that Russia does not want to see the U.S. deploying strategic nuclear bombers and carrier flotillas near its borders and installing components of the global MD in the region. And he stressed that with nothing can the U.S. justify its military steps taken under the pretext of "threat from north Korea".
The U.S. sinister intention has been brought to light with the international community giving no ear to its groundless assertion.
The U.S. moves for the MD establishment in the Asia-Pacific region are a criminal act pushing the regional situation to an extreme pitch of tension and sparking off a new confrontation and arms race.
The U.S. should immediately stop its foolish moves to realize its world domination under the pretext of "missile threat" from the DPRK. -0-
