News Analyst on U.S. Tragedy over Nuclear Issue

Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- The DPRK's successful 3rd underground nuclear test in February Juche 102 (2013) made the world public incline toward an opinion that it is impossible to expect the DPRK's nuclear dismantlement.
Voice of Russia contended that the world should learn how to exist with the DPRK's nukes.
But the United States has stubbornly denied this stark reality.
It had already suffered setbacks in the 20-odd-year-long nuclear showdown with the DPRK.
In the first half of the 1990's when the 1st round of showdown came up between the DPRK and the U.S., the latter could not but come out to the negotiating table, upset by the former's toughest counteraction.
At that time the DPRK gave a warning that the nuclear issue in the Korean Peninsula would get more complicated and serious, when it was dealt at random, like a rolling snowball.
After all, the nuclear issue, spawned by the U.S., became more unpredictably complicated due to the U.S. misinterpretation of the denuclearization of the peninsula and its tightened hostile policy towards the DPRK.
At the beginning of the 21st century, the U.S. attempted again to brand the DPRK as a "nuclear criminal", clamoring about its "uranium enrichment" and, accordingly, the latter made a resolute decision to secede from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
The DPRK government's statement on its withdrawal from the NPT brought the world public into a big confusion. In this regard, Japan's Sankei Shimbun (Internet) said: the Korean Central Broadcasting contended that the DPRK's withdrawal from the NPT touched the U.S. on the raw, and quoted leader
Kim Jong Il as saying that the U.S. should be well aware of the DPRK and it is a tragedy of the U.S. to have failed to get a good understanding of it still now.
In the long run, the anachronistic deeds of the U.S., which had escalated the nuclear blackmail against the DPRK, having no understanding of it and constitutionally denying its ideology and social system, resulted in the successful 3rd nuclear test on the part of the DPRK.
Meanwhile, the DPRK advanced a new strategic line of simultaneously pushing forward the economic construction and the building of nuclear force on the basis of its deterrent, which drove the U.S. into an abyss of self-contradiction.
It has been proved that time and justice stand by the DPRK, not the U.S. pretending to be "the only superpower".
This being the hard fact, the U.S. still persists in the "theory of disallowing the DPRK's possession of nukes" while calling for "resolute counteraction" against "provocation and threat" from it to deceive the world public. It was well illustrated by Obama's recent junket to south Korea.
Nowadays, the U.S. and its followers are viciously slandering the DPRK while clamoring about its "possible fourth nuclear test".
In this regard, the Rodong Sinmun, an organ of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee, stressed that the DPRK would never abandon its sovereign rights but decisively counter the hostile forces' challenge with its toughest stand.
And the DPRK, through the April 27 statement of a spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea, declared again that it was entirely just that it judged and determined it should counter the U.S., the sworn enemy, by force only, not words, and finally settle accounts with the enemy through an all-out nuclear showdown and that it would invariably go along the road chosen by itself.
The U.S. is advised to grasp the meaning of this declaration, though belatedly. The more hell-bent the U.S. gets on the anti-DPRK nuclear racket with its worn-out "strategic patience policy", the more piteous plight it will be driven into.
The DPRK, which regards sovereignty and dignity, justice and peace as lifeblood, will never tolerate any slight encroachment on them.
It is a tragedy of the U.S. that it has not yet got a good understanding of the DPRK. -0-
