Appeal to All Koreans at Home and Abroad Made Public

Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- The North Side, South Side and Overseas Side Committees for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration made public an appeal to all Koreans at home and abroad on June 15, the 14th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.
The joint declaration is a monumental document that enshrines the target, great principle and ways of national reunification which were agreed upon by all Koreans, and the nation's supreme programme for reunification.
As the June 15 era was ushered in, Koreans who suffered pain of division were united as one, pooling their efforts and sharing warm kinship and there took place multifaceted visits, contacts, joint gatherings and cooperation undertakings of people of all social standings, the appeal said.
For the past six years, however, there has continued such abnormal situation in which the joint declaration was openly denied due to the anti-reunification forces, the appeal noted, and went on:
Military tensions have escalated and all undertakings for national reconciliation, unity and co-prosperity were suspended by the forces standing against the joint declaration.
To preserve and implement the joint declaration is the only way of removing the danger of a war and paving the new way of reconciliation, cooperation, peace and reunification.
All the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should pool their efforts and open another June 15 era of reunification without fail.
The North Side, South Side and Overseas Side Committees for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration will discharge their responsibility and role as the nationwide organizations for the reunification movement in order to make this year, in which falls the 69th anniversary of Korea's liberation, a year of an epochal turn for opening the second June 15 era.
The appeal called upon all the Koreans to devote all their wisdom and efforts to ushering in the second June 15 era with warm patriotism, burning will for reunification and conviction of victory. -0-
