                   London 21 August Juche 103(2014)
The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK, The JISGE and UK KFA
today issued a joint statement in support of the statement of the DPRK Foreign Ministry of the 18th of August 2014;
                                    Peace is being gravely menaced and the sovereignty of the DPRK , an independent socialist state of Juche , is being threatened by the holding of the Ulji Freedom Guardian (UFG). At this juncture the DPRK Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the 18th of August to denounce the holding of UFG. The statement makes the significant point that UFG is the latest in a total of 18,000 war exercises that have been conducted in the Korean peninsula threatening the DPRK since the 1950s. Indeed no other country in the world has been subjected to such constant threats and provocative sabre rattling as the DPRK , no other country has had 18,000 war exercises targetting it conducted . The figure of 18,000 means that since 1953 the US imperialists have carried out 300 war exercises per year in south Korea  or one exercise every 30 hours !!!.
                                     It is nonsense for the Yankee imperialists to assert that the exercises are somehow not a threat as they are "annual and defensive ". In these days of austerity and 'deficit reduction '  every item of government expenditure comes under scrutiny so it is inconceivable that UFG would be held if there was not a reason for it. Clearly the UFG exercises are not being held for the sake of entertainment or relieving the boredom of American generals but are in fact a practice for invading the DPRK and effecting so-called "regime change ".
                                         Joint military exercises staged in south Korea after the U.S. announced its new defense strategy are assuming more aggressive nature and their scale and frequency are steadily increasing, ranging from the largest-ever joint landing drill aimed to "occupy Pyongyang" to a drill for "breaking through the Military Demarcation Line" all of a sudden, a drill for "restoring administrative units after occupying the north" and a special operation drill for destroying the headquarters of the DPRK.
                     The aim of the US is to bring down the socialist system in the DPRK by means of force  and to occupy the whole of Korea turning it into a colony and a bridgehead for the invasion of the Asian continent.
                            Given these prevailing circumstances it is only just and correct that the DPRK should pursue the twin-track strategy of developing the economy and nuclear force together .
   We support the declaration of the DPRK Foreign Ministry that as long as the US persists with its threats and bullying then the self-defensive counter-action of the DPRK will be put on a regular and annual basis.
