DPRK's H-bomb Test Is Entirely Just: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, January 9 (KCNA) -- The DPRK proudly joined the ranks of nuclear weapons states having H-bomb.
The Workers' Party of Korea decided to have access to H-bomb, prompted by its strategic will to defend the destiny of the whole Korean nation and regional peace with a sense of responsibility.
H-bomb of justice dealt a heavy sledge-hammer at the U.S. and its followers keen to stifle the DPRK and realized the long-cherished desire of the nation to have the most powerful nuclear deterrent.
The Korean people have more ardent desire for powerful deterrent than any nation.
Because they have long suffered untold misfortune and pain as the victim of the imperialists' moves for war of aggression. They are still exposed to the threat of the most horrible nuclear war.
No nation in the world is exposed to such U.S. direct nuclear threat and blackmail for such long period as the Korean people.
After unleashing the Korean War in June, 1950 the U.S. openly laid bare its plan to drop A-bomb on Korea.
On Nov. 30, 1950 Truman, the then U.S. president, openly talked about the use of A-bomb on the Korean front and issued an order to the U.S. strategic flying corps to "put bombers on alert to fly to the Far East for prompt drop of A-bombs."
The number of nuclear weapons deployed by the U.S. in south Korea increased day by day, reaching nearly 1 000 in the 1970s and more than 1 720 in the 1990s.
It has staged nuclear war drills against the DPRK in south Korea and its vicinity for several decades under various codenames such as Freedom Bolt, Team Spirit, RSOI, Key Resolve, Foal Eagle and Ulji Freedom Guardian.
The Obama administration further increased the nuclear threat and blackmail by introducing its nuclear strike means into south Korea including even the nuclear carrier strike group and nuclear strategic flying corps. It thus turned the Korean Peninsula into the world's hottest spot and hotbed of a nuclear war.
The U.S. has staged ceaseless drills for nuclear war, persistently sidestepping the DPRK's proposal for defusing the danger of a war and creating a peaceful climate on the peninsula through the replacement of the Armistice Agreement with a peace treaty. It is set to ignite a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula any time.
The DPRK has made every effort to shatter the U.S. heinous moves for a nuclear war, ensure peace on the peninsula and regional security and build a prosperous thriving nation.
It successfully conducted its first H-bomb test, a higher stage in developing nuclear weapons, as a self-defensive measure to cope with the U.S. increasing nuclear threat and blackmail.
History teaches immutable truth that a small country and the one exposed to the imperialist forces' direct threat of aggression should exert greater efforts for bolstering its military capability than any others.
The powerful nuclear deterrent serves as an all-powerful treasured sword for smashing outsiders' moves for aggression, ensuring the country's peace and security and building a thriving nation.
The DPRK's option was entirely just. -0-
