A Juche perspective on the EU Referendum -a personal viewpoint by Dermot Hudson

(this article is written from an individual perspective and the views expressed are not necessarily those of the ASSPUK, Juche Idea Study Group of England or UK Korean Friendship Association)

We must smash up the vicious and cunning policy of the imperialists who seek to obliterate nations and the reactionary doctrines which try to justify this policy.
The imperialists’ reactionary policy of suppressing the Juche character of nations and obliterating national traits is now taking on a new form in the guise of gangster-like fuss about the trend towards a “monolithic” world. In the situation where each country and nation shape their destiny with their own ideas and systems, there can be no “monolithic” world which covers all spheres of politics, economy and culture. With social development and ties and interchange among different nations becoming closer, common features increase in the lives of nations. However, this process always presupposes the independent and individualistic development of nations and takes place on the basis of such development.

I have personally always been opposed to Britain's membership of the EU and intend to vote Leave in the referendum.
The EU at the end of the day is a capitalist bloc and is pro-austerity no matter how much some try to paint it in the false colours of a "workers friend"
Recently 1 saw a big Remain poster in the grounds of a country estate . It is a fact that the majority of the ruling class- the big capitalists and finance capitalists support staying in the EU . Tory skeptics and UKIP are basically mavericks, eccentrics and opportunists. If this referendum was held during the Cold war in Europe you would have found that the Tory opponents of the EU would have been given a quiet talking to about undermining the "Western alliance against the Soviets " by advocating withdrawal from the EU . The EU was originally the economic and political counter-part of NATO.
It is all very well for hipsters , Yuppies and the well off to say stay in but they are not the ones who suffer the effects of the high food prices caused by the EU nor the reduction of employment prospects that the EU has caused by undermining basic industries like coal and steel.

The trouble is that the Vote Leave campaign did get hijacked by UKIP  and right wing Tories who turned into an argument over immigration and border control. Also the Vote Leave camp suffered from a lack of vision  and lack of clear alternatives . Really we should be campaigning not just to leave the EU but also NATO and to throw out US troops and bases from the country (something which UKIP do not mention). We need to be fully independent of capitalist and imperialist structures like the IMF, World Bank , WTO etc.
One argument I used to hear from the Right in the 70s and 80s was that "Britain cannot survive outside the EU" . This is nonsense. An independent Britain should follow the example of the DPRK and pursue a strategy of self-reliance and self-development. It makes little sense for the UK to import goods that could easily be produced here using national resources . Industries  like coal ,steel, textiles etc could all be revived self-reliantly and this would reduce unemployment.
Respected Chairman KIM JONG UN in his speech to the 7th Congress of the
WPK referred to upholding  the Juche character and national identity .To me voting leave is doing that.

Forward to an independent , self reliant People's Britain , Vote Leave !
