Rodong Sinmun Demands U.S. Stop Interfering in Internal Affairs of Venezuela

Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) -- Right-wing reactionaries of Venezuela are now going on the rampage demanding a referendum calling for the resignation of the president, creating social disorder and confusion.
Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Wednesday recalls that the Venezuelan government took such measures as declaring a state of emergency to cope with the prevailing situation and hails them as entirely just ones.
    The commentary goes on:
Many countries of the world express full support and solidarity with those measures, but only the U.S. is ratcheting up sanctions against Venezuela, describing those measures as "actions against democracy."
The ulterior aim of the U.S. is to bring down the left-wing governments in Latin America by all means and methods and thus turn the region into its "tranquil backyard" without any anti-Americanism.
The U.S. is the arch criminal making the situation in the Latin American region complicated.
The U.S. should stop giving a shot in the arm of the right-wing reactionary forces of Latin American countries including Venezuela and halt at once its interference in the internal affairs of the region.
Issues in Latin America are the internal matters which should be solved by the peoples of the region and, therefore, the U.S. interference in them is unjustifiable.
The Korean people extend invariable support and solidarity to the struggle of the left-wing forces in the region including Venezuela which hold fast to the stand of independence and socialism against imperialism and boost mutual cooperation, and hope that the situation in the region will return to normal as early as possible. -0-
